2015 Class Visit Program, February 18-20

Posted:

The Admissions Office will host the annual Class Visit Program during President's Day week, February 18–20, in Butler Library 210. This invitation-only event for high school students who have been accepted to Buffalo State allows visiting students to sit in on an actual class alongside currently enrolled Buffalo State students and experience a lecture for themselves. While students are in class, parents participate in a Q&A panel discussion, posing questions to representatives from Financial Aid, University College, Residence Life, the Career Development Center, and University Police. A special Honors Colloquium class visit will be offered on Wednesday, February 18, at 3:05 p.m. by Andrea Guiati, director of the Muriel A. Howard Honors Program. This year's event will also feature a special address by Buffalo State alumna Eve Everette. Hal D. Payne, vice president for student affairs, will address students and parents on Friday. Over 300 students and parents will participate in campus tours and other activities. Wednesday's and Friday's program starts at 8:30 a.m., and Thursday's will begin at 8:45 a.m. For more information, please contact Ken Robinson, program coordinator, ext. 5024.

Update Regarding Snow-Removal Concerns

Posted:

We would like to thank the campus community for its patience during the recent period of steady snow and wind. The snow and ice abatement process has been especially challenging to us and, consequently, to the campus community we serve. While we cannot improve the weather, we have renewed our commitment to meet and exceed the highest expectations of all constituents. This effort, we promise, will indeed improve.

As you travel among buildings and on walkways and parking lots, please report any problematic surface conditions or any other weather-related concerns 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to ext. 6111. If your concerns are not addressed satisfactorily, please call the director of campus services at ext. 6112 for resolution. As always, police emergencies should be reported to University Police at ext. 6333.

More information about the overall campus snow removal plan is available on the Campus Services website.

We sincerely thank you for your understanding and assistance with our snow and ice removal efforts.

Over 1,100 Buffalo State faculty, staff, students, and alumni have already voted for the newest symbol of Buffalo State pride: Bengal Plaid. Have you? There's still time. Voting ends Friday, February 20, at 5:00 p.m.

Students in the Fashion and Textile Technology Department developed their ideas for a college plaid based on the official colors of Buffalo State. The final four designs were chosen by a group of administrators and a student representative. Now it's your turn. The winning design will become the official plaid of Buffalo State, and the student who designed the plaid will win a $500 award. The winning design will be revealed at this year's Runway fashion show, "Innovation," on Saturday, April 25.

Voting is limited to Buffalo State faculty, students, staff, and alumni. One vote per person. Be a part of Buffalo State history. Cast your vote now.
