A general interest meeting for students wishing to study abroad in Haiti in summer 2016 will be held on Friday, February 5, at 3:00 p.m. in South Wing 710.

Members of the Class of 2018 are invited to learn about ways to get involved in leadership opportunities on campus and receive information about different Buffalo State services on Tuesday, February 9, during Bengal Pause (12:15–1:30 p.m.) in the Campbell Student Union upper lobby.

Tenure-track and non-tenure-track faculty members, lecturers, adjuncts, and staff members with teaching responsibilities from across the curriculum are invited to participate in a continuing research study, "How Student Learning Outcomes Shape Attitudes in Teaching and Learning." The study will examine how SLOs are used in course design, delivery, and assessment from the perspective of instructors and students.

Faculty members are asked to complete a short online survey. Faculty members are also encouraged to include their classes in the study and to ask students to complete the online confidential survey.

The Small Business Development Center will present "Survive and Thrive: Essentials for Starting Your Own Business," a workshop covering all the essential information needed to start a business, on Tuesday, February 16, from 8:30 a.m. until noon in the Burchfield Penney Art Center (second floor). Specific topics will include creating a business plan; competition analysis; and tax, legal, and insurance issues. The workshop is free for Buffalo State College faculty, staff, students, and alumni, and U.S. military veterans and $20 for all others.
