Creative Thinking Workshop: March 18

The International Center for Studies in Creativity will present a one-day workshop, "Creative Thinking," on Friday, March 18, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Chase Hall 215. Intended to provide participants with an introduction to creativity and creative problem solving, the workshop is open to the public; the registration fee is $250. Presenters are Gerard Puccio, department chair and professor of creative studies, and James Wardlaw, award-winning entrepreneur with 30 years of business experience.

Two seats are reserved for campus colleagues at a discount rate of $25. These will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Please contact the department secretary, Debra Johnson.

Tell Students: New Student Reading Series - 'Flash in the Pan'

The Drop Hammer Student Reading Series is excited to announce its newest event, "Flash in the Pan," student readings devoted solely to short pieces (five minutes or less in length). Readings will be held Mondays, February 29, March 28, and April 18, from 1:00 to 1:50 p.m. in the Ilene R. Fleischmann Writing and Publication Suite, Ketchum Hall 302.

Students are invited to sign up to read their fiction, poetry, or nonfiction—or surprise us!

Community of Inquiry Specialization Certificate

Instructional Resources is offering a three-workshop series on the Community of Inquiry (CoI) framework beginning Wednesday, March 2. CoI is a theoretical framework that explains the online learning experience in terms of interactions between three overlapping presences: teaching, social, and cognitive.
