Buckham Hall Renovations Under Way

Construction work has begun to renovate the B Wing of Buckham Hall for the departmental offices of Philosophy and Humanities, Modern and Classical Languages, Communication, and Pre-Award and Sponsored Program Operations. The renovations will continue for one year and require the closing of the building entrances between A Wing and B Wing as a new lobby linking these wings is constructed. Other building entrances will remain open. Please excuse any dust and noise as these renovations are carried out.

Update Your Records with Human Resources Self-Service Module

With SUNY System Administration’s Human Resources Self-Service Module, employees are able to view their legal name, demographics, and education information and update their home addresses, phone numbers, and emergency contacts in the SUNY HR system.

Employees are encouraged to review their records annually to ensure that all information is accurate and up to date. If a change is necessary, it may be requested via the Self-Service Module. A user guide (PDF, 741 KB) is available to assist employees in accessing and using the Self-Service Module. Home address and legal name changes may also be requested by completing the paper form available on the website.

Non-state employees must use the paper or online Directory Add/Update Form.

AFP 2016: Engage. Lead. Improve the World is the Anne Frank Project's eighth annual social justice festival, held this year on September 28 and 29 in the Campbell Student Union Social Hall and Upton Hall galleries. AFP 2016 is free and open to students, faculty, staff, and the community.

Highlights:

  • Exhibits and workshops by Buffalo State professors and staff
  • Performances and discussions from local, national, and international guests
  • Stories told by three survivors from separate conflicts
  • Collaborations between campus offices and community organizations

Fall 2016 Diversity Events: 'Engage. Lead. Improve the World'

The Equity and Campus Diversity Office is pleased to present its fall 2016 diversity events, “Engage. Lead. Improve the World,” featuring the Beyond Boundaries: Dare to Be Diverse film and discussion series and the Diversity Dialogue speaker series, now in its fourth year. Once again the Burchfield Penney Art Center will host our Beyond Boundaries film series at no charge to the Buffalo State community.

Our keynote speaker for the annual Hispanic Heritage Month celebration will be the renowned playwright and poet Michael Reyes (PDF, 3.4 MB), who will deliver the address “Mexican/Chicano Identity and History through Spoken Word” on Thursday, October 13, from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m. in Bulger Communication Center West.

A line has been added for the supervisor's name (the person who signs the student's timesheet), which is required for the online Time and Attendance System for Student Employees. Student Move-In Days: Parking and Traffic Notice

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday—August 22, 23, 25, 27, and 28—will be move-in days for resident students. To facilitate the move for our nearly 2,800 residents and their families, temporary changes to campus parking and traffic will be made as follows:

Some parking areas near the residence halls will be reserved for move-in day activity and will not be available for faculty, staff, or student parking. The following lots will be used for move-in activity:

Monday, August 22, and Tuesday, August 23

  • Lot R-1 (Rockwell Road, north and south sides) from Cleveland Circle Drive west to Academic Drive
  • Lot R-6 (Academic Drive)* except parking spaces designated for people with disabilities
  • Lot R-7 (Union Place)* all parking spaces

Perry Hall and Cassety Hall will be accessed via the roadway west of the Science and Mathematics Complex (Bengal Drive), with egress between Upton Hall and the Science and Mathematics Complex.

*Please note that numbered reserve and general reserve parking spaces in lots R-6 and R-7 are included in those parking spaces that will be unavailable for staff parking. On Tuesday, August 23, these reserve-space holders are asked to park in other campus parking lots to accommodate our students.

Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday – August 25, 27, and 28

  • Tower Road traffic will be one way only (east to west) from Tower 1 to Tower 4 and Moore Complex.
  • Student Apartment Complex traffic will be one way only (south to north) on Rees Street.

University Police officers, University Police student assistants, and Residence Life staff members will be available to direct students and their families. Thank you for you cooperation as we welcome our new and returning resident students.
