Teacher Education Council Meeting: December 9

All members of the Teacher Education Unit (TEU) are invited to attend the Teacher Education Council (TEC) meeting on Friday, December 9, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Carmine Grande Conference Room, Cleveland Hall 418. This meeting will review potential revisions to the TEC bylaws regarding TEC membership and unit head definitions, and include a preview of CAEP expectations.?

Tell Students: Drop-In Advising Center J-Term Hours

The Drop-In Advising Center in Butler Library will be closed December 19 to January 2 for winter break and will reopen for J-Term on Tuesday, January 3, with reduced hours (below). The center will resume full operations on the first day of the spring term, January 23.

J-Term Hours: January 3–20
Monday–Thursday: 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Friday: 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. 
Saturday and Sunday: CLOSED

Spring 2017 Hours
Monday–Thursday: 10:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.
Friday: 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.

Celebration of Computer Science Education Week: December 8

Join us in celebrating Computer Science Education Week on Thursday, December 8, during Bengal Pause (12:15–1:30 p.m.) in the Technology Building main lobby.

Encourage your students to stop by and play video games or interact with digital stories, visit multimedia websites, or try out the apps—all developed by freshman students. Recognize the tremendous job growth in the computer industry, which is causing a shortage of computing professionals in the United States. Discover what women and minorities have contributed to computer science and find out how you can get involved with the Women in Computing Club. Stop by for refreshments and enter your name in a raffle prize drawing sponsored by McGraw-Hill.

The campus community is invited to the 20th annual Student Art Sale, a fabulous School of Arts and Humanities event held in Upton Hall's Czurles-Nelson Gallery, on Wednesday, December 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Thursday, December 8, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. A wide range of student work in various media from the Art Education, Design, and Fine Arts departments will be for sale at reasonable prices.
