Butler Library Rooms Offline

The following rooms are now offline in preparation for the Butler Library renovation project. Events Management is no longer accepting reservations for the following:

  • Butler Library 208
  • Butler Library 210B
  • Butler Library 318 (computer lab)

The computer lab in Classroom Building C104 is available for reservations campuswide through Events Management to replace the computer lab in Butler Library 318

Butler Library 210 will go offline on Monday, May 21, but is available for use for the duration of the spring semester.

Events Management will work to find suitable alternatives for events typically held in these spaces.

Winterim Session: Two Quick Crafts - January 17

Please join us for the Winterim session "Two Quick Crafts," presented by Kelly Boos, executive assistant to the dean of the School of Natural and Social Sciences, on Wednesday, January 17, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. in Classroom Building A400.

Have fun while creating glitter serenity jars and floss-wrapped twigs. Feel free to bring materials you may already have in your craft bin, such as bracelet floss, yarn bits, small bells, beads and sequins, glitter, clear glue, small jars with tight lids, or twigs from your yard. Materials will also be available.

Winterim Session - Middle Early College: Creating a Supportive Environment - January 19

Please join us for the Winterim session "Middle Early College: Creating a Supportive Environment" on Friday, January 19, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in Butler Library 210. ?

A panel discussion centered on the partnership between Buffalo State College (Center for Urban and Rural Education) and Middle Early College High School (Buffalo Public School 335) and the creation of the MEC Academic Support and Tutoring Center. We will discuss the history of the partnership and our current research-based practices. Also, we will offer insights to teaching high school students while preparing them for college-level coursework.

Study Tour to Northern France, Southern Belgium: July 1-8

The Buffalo-Lille Association Inc. will sponsor its eighth study tour to northern France and southern Belgium from July 1 to 8 this year. The last two days of the tour will address the six professional areas of the association (arts, education, business, government, medicine, and sports).

The total cost for the tour is $1,300. We will stay with host families, transportation will be by private bus, and two bilingual guides will escort us on various visits in northern France and southern Belgium.

Faculty and staff members are encouraged to join us on this memorable tour whose specific goal is to reinforce the ties between the Niagara region, northern France, and southern Belgium.

Professional Staff Caucus Focus Groups

The Professional Staff Caucus (PSC) is seeking feedback and ideas regarding ways to enhance professional staff members’ development, workplace experiences, and campus engagement. We will host four focus groups for professional staff during Winterim (January 16–19) and the week of January 22. All sessions will be held in Butler Library 181B. There will be snacks and special drawings for those participating in the focus group sessions. Please register to participate in one of the PSC focus groups using the links below:
