Intermittent Parking Disruptions along Rockwell Road: Tomorrow

Intermittent impacts to parking on the south side of Lot R-1—Rockwell Road between Clinton Road and the Burchfield Penney Art Center—are expected throughout the day tomorrow, January 23, as a contractor prunes and removes trees to provide the necessary clearance for newly installed street lighting. Thank you for your patience as this important work is undertaken.

New Box View
Blackboard's Crocodoc Inline Annotation Grading Tool was decommissioned January 15. Blackboard was updated to the New Box View as a replacement for Crocodoc. New Box View offers several improvements including rendering fidelity and expanded support for new file types. Learn more about working with annotations in New Box View.

Blackboard Qwickly Jot Assignment
Expand the scope of assignments in Blackboard. Create assignments with diagrams, charts, maps, or any uploaded image. Students can write or draw directly on the image and submit the assignment for grading. Learn more about the Qwickly Jot Assignment.

The first College Senate meeting of the spring 2018 semester will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 9, in Butler Library 210. Senate meetings are recorded and posted as podcasts on the College Senate website. Please visit the website to catch up on past Senate news, listen to podcasts of past meetings, or review meeting summaries. The schedule (PDF, 46 KB) of all upcoming College Senate meeting dates is also posted.

The College Senate Office is located in Cleveland Hall 211. Howard Reid, professor of psychology, is chair of the College Senate for the 2017–2018 academic year. Information Security Awareness: Lyrics Mania

We received a notice from haveibeenpwned regarding Lyrics Mania. As previously noted, we receive notices from haveibeenpwned when a Buffalo State e-mail account is in the mix of breached accounts. If you used your Buffalo State e-mail address to establish an account with Lyrics Mania, please change your passwords to both your Buffalo State account and your account with Lyrics Mania immediately. Do not use the same password for each account.

From the haveibeenpwned website: “In December 2017, the song lyrics website known as Lyrics Mania suffered a data breach. The data in the breach included 109k usernames, email addresses and plain text passwords. Numerous attempts were made to contact Lyrics Mania about the incident, however no responses were received.”
