Information Security Awareness: Password Managers

Posted:

Do you use the same password for every account? Do you try to use the same password over and over and over? Then it’s just a matter of time before your identity is stolen or worse.

Never use the same password for more than one account. Never reuse a password. Use a password manager to manage your passwords. Read about password managers from sans.org.

Registrar's Office: New Features in Schedule Planner

Posted:

Schedule Planner, the online planning tool that makes registration easier for students by simplifying and decreasing the amount of time involved in planning a schedule, had unveiled five new features:

  • A Banner Reserved Seats Flag and Display
This new icon alerts students when a section is using reserved seats and gives a breakdown of the reserved seats by line item. Schedule Planner is updated every minute so students can see actual seats reserved vs. seats available to them.
  • A Style Change to the Back Button
The Back button is now displayed with an orange background, making it easier to locate on the page.
  • A Maximum Schedules Tip
This added feature gives students a warning when they have generated 500 or more possible schedules. The warning reminds students to use breaks, locks, and course options to narrow their search results.
  • A Low-Cost Materials Icon
This new icon will display for sections that have a low-cost materials attribute. This is a great way for students to search and identify sections that offer the low-cost materials option.
  • A Co-requisite Icon
This new icon will display for sections that have co-requisite requirements.

As always, students are strongly encouraged to use Schedule Planner (PDF, 2.1 MB). They can send their final course selections directly to their shopping cart and submit!
