Registrar's Office: Overrides in Banner

Posted:

All overrides can be granted directly in Banner Self-Service by the instructor assigned to the course.

Helpful tips and information:

Camtasia video tutorial: How to Process Overrides in Banner SSB for Faculty

Banner Student Registration Guide (PDF)

How to Address Registration Restrictions and Overrides

How to Grant Special Approval (Instructor Permission) in Self-Service Banner

After a student receives special approval in Banner, does the student still have to go back and register? Yes. FAQ No. 22. More FAQs.

Request for Registration Override: Automatic E-mail to Students' Gmail Accounts: When a student attempts to register in Banner and receives a registration add error, an automatic e-mail message is sent to his or her Gmail account. This e-mail provides detailed information including the actual error message the student received and the instructor's Buffalo State e-mail address. The e-mail will contain all relevant information related to the student, the registration add error, and the course number/CRN. The student can forward this e-mail to the instructor to request an override. The instructor can then grant the override if the student meets the necessary criteria to be registered in the course.

Forwarding Gmail Messages to Cell Phones: Students can now forward important Gmail messages (for example, waitlist notifications) to their cell phones. Detailed information is available online on the Computing and Technology Services website.

'New World, New Wardrobe' Clothing Giveaway

Posted:

Students enrolled in FTT 150 (Introduction to Fashion Merchandising) in the Fashion and Textile Technology Department will host the third New World, New Wardrobe Clothing Giveaway for refugees residing on the West Side of Buffalo on Saturday, December 7, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Asarese-Matters Community Center.

The New World, New Wardrobe project is designed to help refugees who need to build a new life in the United States. Students have organized various clothing drives to collect gently worn clothing and winter gear for all refugee families and will set up a retail store–like clothing giveaway where refugees can enjoy a free shopping experience.

This project is sponsored by the Auxiliary Services Grant Allocation Committee and the Vice President for Student Affairs Office.
