Year of the Teacher Lecture: 'What You Don't Know about China - Challenging Conventional Wisdom on a Rising Superpower

Allen Carlson, associate professor of government at Cornell University, will present "What You Don't Know about China: Challenging Conventional Wisdom on a Rising Superpower," on Thursday, May 1, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. in Bulger Communication Center South. His lecture is free and open to the public. Carlson's work focuses on Chinese politics, foreign policy, and Asian security. He is the author of Unifying China, Integrating with the World: Securing Chinese Sovereignty in the Reform Era.

This Year of the Teacher lecture is sponsored by the Center for China Studies; the School of Arts and Humanities; the School of Education; the School of Natural and Social Sciences; International and Exchange Programs; and the departments of Economics and Finance, Modern and Classical Languages, and Political Science.
