Workshops to Success: Word Choices: Are You Using Firecrackers or Dynamite?

Word Choices: Are You Using Firecrackers or Dynamite? is the next session in the Workshops to Success series sponsored by University College's Academic Skills Center and offered free to Buffalo State students. This session raises the question of whether one word is better than another. Why say "disposition" instead of "tude" or "It's spectacular!" instead of "It rocks!"? Do you see a motion picture, a movie, or a flick? Do you drive a car, a heap, or a chick-magnet? Word choices may convey what we mean, but they can also reflect who we are and how we think. Become more aware of the extraordinary power of words. Date: Wednesday, April 2. Time: 3:00–4:00 p.m. Place: E. H. Butler Library 210B. Presenter: Dr. Thomas Renzi. If you have any questions, please call the ASC, ext. 4041.
