NYS Labor Law §27b mandates that all public employees participate in annual workplace and domestic violence prevention training. Employees must either attend a scheduled class or may fulfill this requirement by completing the web-based workplace violence prevention training, which can be accessed through ANGEL (view ANGEL log on guide).
A training session will be held Wednesday, May 25, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in Cleveland Hall 418. The session is presented by the Human Resource Management Office, and will be conducted by Sam Lunetta, retired University Police lieutenant. Topics to be covered include recognizing warning signs for potential violence, assessing risk in various work settings, what to do and what not to do if presented with a violent situation, and campus resources available to prevent violence.
Visit the HR website or call ext. 4822 to register.
All department heads should work with their employees to ensure that everyone completes this mandated training online or in a workshop by the end of 2011.
