Winter Solstice Total Lunar Eclipse Tonight

If the weather cooperates tonight, you will be able to observe a total lunar eclipse! This eclipse will be visible from North America and is additionally special because it falls on December 21, the Winter Solstice. A partial eclipse of the full moon will begin at 1:33 a.m., and the total eclipse will begin at 2:41 a.m., reaching mid-eclipse at 3:17 a.m. The total eclipse will end at 3:53 a.m. with the subsequent partial eclipse ending at 5:01 a.m.
