Countering norms that contribute to the production of cultures of violence is a key element of any effort to prevent violence in a lasting, comprehensive way. This Web conference will highlight specific strategies and efforts that seek to change norms related to gendered violence. Different norms will be examined with regard to their historical context, distinct challenges, and opportunities for collaborative work. Presenters include: Erica Mizelle of the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and Laura Fidler of the New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault.
