Victor Villanueva to Speak

University College invites Buffalo State students, faculty, and staff to attend a presentation by Victor Villanueva, author of the inaugural Buffalo State Common Reading, “Colonial Memory and the Crime of Rhetoric: Pedro Albizu Campos," on Friday, October 28, at 3:00 p.m. in Warren Enters Theatre in Upton Hall. The event is free; a reception in the Bulger Communication Center lobby will immediately follow the talk.

Declared "Rhetorician of the Year" in 1999 by the Young Rhetoricians Conference, Villanueva received the Conference on College Composition and Communication Exemplar Award in 2009. He is the author or editor of five books, including Bootstraps: From an American Academic of Color, and more than 40 articles or chapters. His body of work revolves around issues of language, racism, and identity.
