Please join the Burchfield Penney Art Center for “Under the Midnight Moon: Shades of Blue and White,” the next workshop in the International Center for Watercolor Summer Series with artist and instructor Jennifer Koury, on Thursday, June 28, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The summer workshop series is inspired by the current exhibition Suddenly I Awoke: The Dream Journals of Charles E. Burchfield.
Save the whites and paint the depths of constellations. Using intense blues contrasted against the white of the paper, participants will create an ethereal painting of the moon, stars, and illuminating light on a landscape. Choose a landscape of mountains or a field of flowers. Bring as many shades of blue as you have—even if they are leaning toward purple or green—and drawings and photos you have for inspiration of a landscape.
The cost of the workshop is $42 for members and $52 for not-yet members.
