Celebrate spring and Western New York’s blossoming local and sustainable food movement at April's M&T Second Friday tonight from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. In conjunction with the exhibition Edible Complex, the Burchfield Penney Art Center will host a “live exhibition of our food culture.” Nearly 20 farms, vineyards, and nonprofits are ready to share their histories and stories, and sample and sell their products.
Participants include Arrowhead Spring Vineyards, Blackman Homestead Farm, Edible Buffalo, Farmers and Artisans, Field and Fork Network, First Light Farm and Creamery, Garden of Stewardship, Go Veggies, Hill ’n’ Hollow, Lexington Co-operative Market, Massachusetts Avenue Project, Nickel City Chef, Oles Family Farm, Pelion Community Garden at City Honors School, Singer Farm Naturals, Singer Farms, Stand Fast Farm, Western New York Book Arts Center, Winery at Marjim Manor, and White Cow Dairy.
In addition, the Lexington Co-op will screen Locally Grown: The Lexington Co-op Story at 5:30 p.m., followed by presentations on the Massachusetts Avenue Project project by Zoe Hollomon, enterprise director, at 5:45 p.m. and the Garden of Stewardship by Caesandra Seawell at 6:00 p.m.
