Posted: Wednesday, April 26, 2017Today: 'Be the Match' Bone Marrow Registration Drive
Buffalo State Football in conjunction with Be the Match will host a registration drive for the National Marrow Donor Program today, April 26, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Campbell Student Union.
Thousands of patients with blood cancers like leukemia or other diseases like sickle cell anemia need a marrow transplant to survive. Most patients dont have a fully matched donor in their family. Thats when they turn to Be the Match.
By joining the Be the Match registry, your tissue type will be included in the search process for every patient in need. Keep in mind: you are not donating at the registration drive; you are simply having your name added to the National Donor Program to see if you are a match for a person in need. Thank you for your support.
