Tickets on Sale for 'Intimate Apparel'

The Buffalo State Theater Department and Casting Hall Productions proudly present Intimate Apparel, a play by Pulitzer Prize–winning playwright Lynn Nottage, in the Donald Savage Building's Flexible Theatre.

Directed by Lara D. Haberberger, lecturer of theater. Featuring student actors Keion Abrams, Shae Brockington, Roselynn Corrado, Monique Godfrey, Aqueira Roberts Oshun, and Nathaniel Schumacher, and student lighting designer Mariah Faulkner.

Intimate Apparel tells the story of Esther, an African American seamstress in 1905 Manhattan, who makes exquisite undergarments for high-end clients and embarks on an unlikely romance. Nottage stitches together a tale of romance, greed, and ambition—and a tender story of seeking real friendship across the vast social gulf separating a seamstress and a socialite, the yearning of inter-racial as well as interfaith love, and the persistence of spirit as Esther tries to craft a life as beautiful as one of her camisoles.

Two performances remaining: Friday, October 11, at 8:00 p.m., and Saturday, October 12, at 2:00. p.m. Tickets are on sale now at the Rockwell Hall Box Office, 878-3005, or online.
