The International Education Office is pleased to announce study-abroad scholarships for students looking to travel in summer and fall 2017. Please encourage students to apply for the following opportunities:

SUNY Diversity Abroad Honors Scholarship
Student must be enrolled in a SUNY school, attend a SUNY program, and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5; students from underrepresented groups and students applying for experiences in countries where English is not the primary language will receive priority. The scholarship is $2,000 per semester. The deadline is 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 1.

SUNY Buffalo State Study-Abroad Scholarship Fund
The Study-Abroad Scholarship Fund provides financial awards to meritorious students participating in Buffalo State international study programs and contributing to promotional activities for these programs. Students must be matriculated at Buffalo State at the time of the scholarship application. Candidates must have completed at least one semester at Buffalo State and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Meritorious candidates will be identified on the basis of the relevance of overseas study to the student's academic program and career goals, service, activities, interests, and work experience. An application essay (refer to application for details) and an interview by the staff are also required. The deadline is 4:00 p.m. Monday, April 3.

Last year, Buffalo State students earned over $23,500 through internal and external scholarships. Please encourage students to reach out to Tricia Herritt, director of international education, for more information or look for the scholarship applications on the International Education Office website.
