Tell Students: Make an Impact with Alternative Break

Make an impact, take action, and become a leader with the Alternative Break program. Join us on one of seven service trips this year to tackle important social justice issues in communities around the country. Applications and trip information can be found on the Alternative Break website. Please contact the Civic and Community Engagement Office, 878-3919, South Wing 130, with questions.

Applications for Alternative Fall Break and Alternative Winter Break are due Thursday, October 4.

  • Alternative Fall Break: Cultivating Empathy and Embracing Diversity through Refugee Resettlement
    November 9–11, 2018
    Learn about refugee and immigrant issues through service projects with Jericho Road Community Health Center, the Community Academic Center, and the Latin American Cultural Association.
  • Alternative Winter Break: SUNY-Wide Efforts to Take Action in the Wake of Hurricane Maria
    Lend a hand with housing construction efforts during one of two winter break experiences:
    January 2–18, 2019, with the Buffalo State Newman Center
    or
    January 19–26, 2019, with CCE’s Alternative Break program.
