Tell Students: Free Mindfulness Skills Course Begins April 7

Students are invited to participate in a free Mindfulness Skills Workshop, co-led by Maria Kahn, local mindfulness instructor, and Jack Mack, assistant clinical manager of the Buffalo State Counseling Center. Open to all, the course begins Thursday, April 7, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in Campbell Student Union 419 and will continue every Thursday throughout April at the same time and place. After the last class on April 28, the group will continue to meet for weekly drop-in sessions on Thursdays at 3:30 p.m. until the end of the semester. Seating will be distanced, with masks required inside the Union.

Students will learn and practice a new mindfulness skill each week, including how to

  • manage stress and anxiety from within,
  • reground and reset in the present,
  • recognize and process difficult emotions,
  • improve focus and memory,
  • listen and learn more effectively,
  • settle their minds to access your wisdom and talent,
  • access their internal resources to better navigate change and uncertainty.

Please contact Jack Mack with any questions.
