Tell Students: Buffalo State Student Election Applications Available

Are you looking for a student leadership position where you can gain experience and earn some income? Buffalo State College undergraduate student election applications are now available. Consider applying for one of the paid campus positions for the 2022–2023 academic year listed below. Log in to Bengal Connect with your Buffalo State username and password to fill out an application. The deadline to submit applications is Friday, February 11.

Visit the USG website to learn about the descriptions and requirements of the available positions.

USG President - Runs weekly senate meetings and meets with the Buffalo State administration to better the campus.

USG Executive Vice President - Works with the business staff to oversee the day-to-day operations of USG.

USG Treasurer - Works with the business staff to manage USG and organization budgets.

USG Vice President for Organization Relations - Communicates and works with the senate, student organizations, and campus administration on advocacy for students and USG organizations, as well as oversees USG organizations.

USG Vice President for Public Relations - Runs USG social media, marketing, and advertising.

USG Vice President for Campus Programming - Plans all USG campuswide programs of interest for commuter and resident students.

If time is a concern, please consider one of the following positions. These positions are not paid but involve less of a time commitment and still give you the résumé boost and experience:

USG Senator - Help plan campus activities, support campus organizations, advocate on behalf of students (one meeting a week during the semester).

Apply today to join committees that decide campus grant allocations:

Faculty-Student Association (a couple of meetings per semester)
Grant Allocation Committee (a couple of meetings per semester)

Apply for the only student representative position on the College Council and meet with the board of directors (four meetings a year).

Apply for one of 10 student representative positions on the College Senate (once a month during semester).

Apply for the Intercollegiate Athletics Board non-competitor or at-large positions (one meeting a month).

Apply to sit on the Auxiliary Services Advisory Committee to make some changes on campus (a couple of meetings a semester).

Apply for one of two Student Assembly Delegate positions and work with SUNY SA to lobby for students at the SUNY level (one conference per semester).
