Teaching in a learning community or first-year seminar is an opportunity to show students the pleasure of intellectual discovery, introduce the challenges of rigorous academics to new students, reinvigorate the teaching of a course, and establish new relationships across campus. Almost all faculty who teach in these programs report very positive experiences with colleagues and students. If you’re looking for a new way to reach students with the knowledge of your discipline, consider teaching in the first-year experience. University College will host a conversation about teaching in these programs on Tuesday, December 13, at 9:00 a.m. in Twin Rise 102.
