Take Back the Night 2019: April 9

Buffalo State will host Take Back the Night: A Decade of Sexual Assault Awareness: Past, Present, Future on Tuesday, April 9, at 6:00 p.m. in the Campbell Student Union Social Hall.

Campus and community organizations will be present for the event. Various items that relate directly to sexual assault education and prevention efforts from the last 10 years will be on display, including fliers, brochures, stickers, pins, buttons, banners, quilts, photos, videos, articles, pledges, and other “swag” or promo items. Free refreshments will be available, and therapy dogs will be on site.

The campus will be painted teal during the first two weeks in April, with teal ribbons and teal lights in the Rockwell Hall bell tower, in recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month. We invite you to wear teal on April 9 to show your support as well.

This event is free and open to the public. (No parking restrictions for this event.) Please consider attending or providing extra credit for your students to attend.

Interested performers or volunteers should contact Paula Madrigal, assistant director of prevention and health promotions.

Take Back the Night is sponsored by Weigel Health Promotions, the Equity and Campus Diversity Office, the Dean of Students Office, and United Students Government.

Please visit the Weigel Health Promotions website, our Facebook page, and Facebook Event page updates and more information. Thank you for your support.
