Summer Watercolor Salons at the Center

The International Center for Watercolor at the Burchfield Penney is dedicated to the study, advancement, and celebration of the watercolor medium. Join us in the center's studio classroom for our Watercolor Salon Series on select Thursdays from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. throughout the summer. Each salon will feature a different watercolorist, inspiring you and your fellow painters to explore new techniques and approaches to the medium. Bring your own paints or borrow a set.

$10 for members; $20 for not-yet members.
Drop-in; no registration required.
All levels of painters welcome.

June 12 | Amy Greenan: Expressive Text
Look at letters and play with color in a new way. Create expressive text-based artwork using gouache or other water-based media (and maybe some underdrawing). Be prepared to embrace so-called mistakes and see how they can energize your work in a limited color palette with selective layering.

June 19 | Sandy Ludwig and Kelly Hayes McAlonie: On Architecture
June 26 | Kateri Ewing: On Detail
July 10 | Jody Ziehm: On Gardens
July 17 | Julie McIndoo: On Transfers
July 24 | Denise Sperry and Helga MacKinnon: On Glass
July 31 | Catherine O’Neill: On Texture
August 7 | Kristy Blakely and Kathleen Raines: On Nature
August 14 | Julie Lewitzky: On Combining Media

For more details, please contact Kathy Gaye Shiroki, ext. 3549, or visit the Burchfield Penney website.
