From the Dean of the School of Arts and Humanities
Welcome back, and welcome to the Year of the Arts! Last February, in his first State of the College address, President Podolefsky declared 2011–2012 the Year of the Arts at Buffalo State. Over the summer, our planning committee worked tirelessly with faculty and departments from across campus and many community partners to put together an exciting calendar of performances, lectures, and exhibits.
While every year is the “Year of the Arts” at Buffalo State, this one is even more special. Read about what’s ahead in the month of September in today’s Daily Bulletin featured story, and also look forward to the entire year by visiting www.yearofthearts.com.
As President Podolefsky so eloquently stated in his address last spring, “There is art in all we do.” With that in mind, I invite faculty, staff, and students from all departments and offices on campus to submit events to be included in our comprehensive calendar. Simply submit your events to Buffalo State’s events calendar and send an e-mail to Carolyn Fusco with the event name, date, time, and location along with a brief description. Event listings will be shared with the campus and community via www.yearofthearts.com.
I also invite you to add the Year of the Arts logo, which was created last spring by Buffalo State design student David Koszka, to any materials related to your events. The logo is available for download.
