Steam Shutdown Scheduled for Bulger, Caudell, and Upton: December 21

A portion of the college’s steam distribution system is scheduled to be shut down on Thursday, December 21, weather permitting, to facilitate necessary system modifications. Preparatory excavation work at Upton Quad, in the walkway north of Perry Hall and the Classroom Building, will begin on December 18.

Upton and Caudell halls and Bulger Communication Center will be without heat on Thursday, December 21. While these buildings will have electricity and fire safety systems, indoor temperatures are expected to decline throughout the day until steam is restored in the late evening.

Occupants of these buildings who intend to work on December 21 should dress appropriately or make arrangements with their supervisors for alternative work locations. Other campus buildings will not be affected by this shutdown. Questions about this activity may be sent to vpfm@buffalostate.edu. Your understanding is appreciated as this important work is undertaken.
