Spend a Weekend in and around Philadelphia with the Burchfield Penney

Join the Burchfield Penney Art Center for a four-star weekend in and around Philadelphia August 22–24.

The trip begins with the opening celebration of Exalted Nature: The Real and Fantastic World of Charles Burchfield at the Brandywine River Museum in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. The exhibition, co-curated by Nancy Weekly, head of collections and Charles Cary Rumsey curator, brings together more than 50 works by Charles Burchfield (1893–1967) from collections across the United States, many rarely seen!

A full day will be spent in Philadelphia. Guests can choose between visiting the Philadelphia Museum of Art or the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, followed by a visit to the Barnes Foundation to visit the exhibition The World Is an Apple: The Still Lifes of Paul Cézanne at its only American venue, in addition to the Barnes’s world-class collection, now in its new home. On the way back to Buffalo, we visit Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library, founded by Henry Francis du Pont, for the exhibition Costumes of Downton Abbey, the collection of decorative and fine artwork, and the exquisite gardens housing architectural elements accenting the stunning plantings.

The cost of $495 (double occupancy) or $655 (single occupancy) includes luxury coach transportation, fabulous meals, and two nights at the exclusive Union League of Philadelphia. All museum fees and gratuities are also included.

Space is limited. Hold your place with a $100 deposit. Full payment is due by Friday, August 1.
