Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic to Offer Daylong Program for Children and Young Adults Who Stutter

Stuttering is a worldwide communication disorder affecting in excess of 60 million people. Stuttering is characterized by difficulties in the forward flow of speech or talking. These difficulties can have an impact on the emotional, educational, and social well-being of people who stutter. The Buffalo State Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic will offer a full-day program on Saturday, June 15, for individuals ages 6 to 16 years who stutter and their families. The day will include basic information on stuttering and support for individuals who stutter and their families, as well as practice sessions conducted by graduate students in the Speech-Language Pathology Department. Clinic supervisor Chris Heximer, M.A., CCC/SLP, will spearhead the program. For more information, call Heximer at ext. 3527.
