'Seasons on the Cusp: Exploring Weather and Climate Transitions' - November 10

Please join us for “Seasons on the Cusp: Exploring Weather and Climate Transitions,” presented by climatologist and Buffalo State professor of geography and planning Stephen Vermette, on Sunday, November 10, at 1:30 p.m. in the Burchfield Penney Art Center.

Dr. Vermette returns to the Burchfield Penney with new perspectives on Charles E. Burchfield’s artwork that portray the fickle transition of seasons, as well as observations on twenty-first-century Western New York weather and climate.

In 2011, Dr. Vermette worked with curator Tullis Johnson on Charles E. Burchfield: Weather Event, an exhibition that presented the dramatic and complex natural phenomena chronicled in more than 50 years of Burchfield’s writings, drawings, and paintings. He contributed to the exhibition catalog and moderated a panel discussion, “Lake Effect: How It Defines Buffalo’s Weather and Climate.” Art and science unite once again to reflect our shared experiences.

This event is free with gallery admission.
