Join the Burchfield Penney for a screening of Participation, followed by a conversation with Steina on Thursday, June 23, at 7:30 p.m.
Participation (1969) focuses on the main players of counterculture movements in NYC in the 1960s. At the time, Steina and Woody filmed indiscriminately and accumulated hours of videotape. The anthology incorporates scenes shot at Fillmore East in New York, featuring such musical legends as Jimi Hendrix, Jethro Tull, Miles Davis, and Keith Jarrett.
