After serving the Buffalo State Counseling Center for more than 17 years, associate director Modupe Akin-Deko, Ph.D., will retire in July. To thank her for her service and show our appreciation, a farewell reception (cash bar) will be held on Tuesday, May 27, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Campus House. Remarks at 5:00 p.m.
Akin-Deko, a recipient of the President’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service, has been a tremendous asset to the center and the college. She served as associate director and clinical coordinator and was active on many college committees. She was recently honored for her work on the Child Care Center board of directors. She has been a great advocate for students, a wonderful colleague, and a dedicated professional. She will be truly missed.
