Push for Progress: Sustainable Fashion with Bridgett Artise - April 7

The Fashion and Textile Technology Department welcomes sustainable fashion designer Bridgett Artise as a guest speaker on Thursday, April 7, at 12:15 p.m. in Technology Building 160.

The focus of Buffalo State College’s 2022 Runway, “Push for Progress,” looks to those who are building a new foundation for inclusivity in the fashion industry—the forward-thinkers and leaders who are creating change. Runway brings these conversations to life on and off the stage, highlighting designers, organizations, and causes that are pushing for progress.

Ms. Artise is a sustainable fashion guru, boutique owner, and designer of Born Again Vintage. A professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), she is an event planner, sustainability mentor, founder of “New York Sustainable Fashion Week,” and author of Born Again Vintage: 25 Ways to Deconstruct, Reinvent, and Recycle Your Wardrobe. Ms. Artise is also a successful woman of color in the fashion industry and is “pushing for progress” in both racial justice and climate activism through her work.

Join us to be inspired and learn more about reducing your carbon footprint by reusing and repairing your clothing. Bring an item to "mend" at our mending station.

This event is funded by the college’s Grant Allocation Committee. For more information, please visit the Runway website.
