United Way Day of Caring, August 17: Sign Up Today!

Join your Buffalo State colleagues on Wednesday, August 17, for the United Way Day of Caring. Be a volunteer! Get a T-shirt! If you are interested, please e-mail Margaret Shaw-Burnett at shawma@buffalostate.edu or call ext. 5907 by Monday, July 11. Indicate your T-shirt size (M, L, XL, 2X, 3X) in the e-mail.

By assisting community providers, Day of Caring volunteers save them thousands of dollars while gaining the opportunity to see firsthand the impact of their United Way gifts and the important work of human service providers in the community. Over the past 18 years, United Way Day of Caring has made a significant economic difference in our community. Day of Caring has saved agencies in Erie and Niagara counties $5.5 million with an estimated 330,000 hours of service donated by 81,500 volunteers. During last year’s event, 3,389 volunteers from 119 companies in Erie County spent the day caring for our community by completing 162 projects at 119 local agencies. When adding the volunteers in Niagara County, the count for last year’s event was about 4,000.

Help make a difference in our local communities. Join your colleagues and volunteer today. Your participation is greatly appreciated.
