Academic Convocation

Faculty and staff members are invited to attend Buffalo State’s 24th annual Academic Convocation on Thursday, September 15, at 12:15 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Rockwell Hall. Convocation is an important tradition on our campus; we celebrate learning and excellence in commencing a new academic year.

Buffalo State alumnus Steve Ralbovsky, ’79, will receive a SUNY honorary doctorate and give the Bonnie and Vern L. Bullough Academic Convocation Address. Ralbovsky, founder and president of Canvasback Music, is a champion of American popular music and is a highly regarded A&R (artists and repertoire) professional in the music business.

We will also recognize the following colleagues who are recipients of SUNY and Buffalo State awards:

Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Classified Service

Christopher M. Pennuto, Professor, Biology
President’s Award for Excellence as an Undergraduate Research Mentor
