I am pleased to announce that Ann Emo, professor and chair of the Theater Department, has accepted an additional appointment as applied learning coordinator for Buffalo State College. Ms. Emo has taken on this important role as part of her already significant service responsibilities and will build off our successful applied learning work through a SUNY 2017 Performance Improvement Fund (PIF) grant. She will serve as our campus liaison to SUNY while working to strengthen experiential and applied learning across the institution. Applied Learning is being organized as one of six units in the Civic and Community Engagement Office, and Ms. Emo will also continue to work closely with the Teaching and Learning Center to advance applied learning strategies as important pedagogical tools for a successful Buffalo State education.
