Professional Development Workshop: 'Unconscious Bias and Its Effect on a Truly Inclusive Workplace' - November 16

Please join us for the professional development workshop "Unconscious Bias and Its Effect on a Truly Inclusive Workplace" on Wednesday, November 16, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Butler Library 210.

This interactive session, facilitated by Andrea G. Harden, human resources consultant and trainer, will explore the stereotypes and biases in each of us. Sometimes we know we have them; however, many times we don’t. If biases are truly unconscious, can we really be held accountable? More important, if we don’t know what we don’t know, can we really change?

We will explore how to recognize the hidden biases in all of us and why "simply changing" isn’t always easy. We will see how even without knowledge of our own biases, they may sabotage us, our team, and our workplace. Finally, we will explore some ways to become mindful of our own blind spots. Because real, sustained change starts with awareness.

Light snacks will be provided. Please register through the Workshop Registration System.
