Professional Development Workshop: 'Nourishing Your Personal and Professional Selves in a Changing Workplace' - April 2

Please join us for the professional development workshop "Nourishing Your Personal and Professional Selves in a Changing Workplace," presented by Margaret W. Sallee, associate professor of educational leadership and policy in the University at Buffalo's Graduate School of Education, on Tuesday, April 2, from noon to 2:00 p.m. in Chase Hall 109.

The ever-changing workplace often places significant demands on its employees, which may have an impact on both their work and home lives. Too often, discussions of work-life issues focus on just one side of the coin: work or life; however, the two domains are never really separate. Individuals are more likely to thrive when paying attention to both their personal and professional needs and selves. This workshop will give participants the opportunity to think through how to (re)discover and (re)create value in their professional work and relationships while also offering strategies for navigating the multiple demands that arise from personal roles.

By the end of this workshop, participants should be able to do the following:

  • Articulate how organizational context affects both work and home responsibilities
  • Identify tools they can use to find value in their professional work
  • Generate strategies to creatively leverage both individual and institutional resources to support their personal lives

Light snacks will be provided. Please register through the Workshop Registration System.
