Sexual harassment is an important topic for students to understand so that they are able to recognize and handle harassment experiences in work or educational settings, as well as avoid engaging in harassing behavior themselves; however, instructors and professional staff may avoid discussions about sexual harassment for a variety of reasons, including lack of knowledge and concerns about handling student disclosures. Join us for a discussion led by Jenn Hunt (women and gender studies minor), Scott Johnson (Equity and Campus Diversity Office), and Liz McGough (Violence Intervention and Victim Advocacy Office) about strategies for talking with students about sexual harassment. Copies of resources that can be shared with students will be provided. This is part of the Final Fridays: Discussions about Gender and Sexuality in Teaching, Research, and Service discussion series. A light lunch will be provided.
