Professional Development: Developing Disciplinary Habits of Mind - General Education Faculty Interest Group Discussion

Our Faculty Interest Group discussion on Friday, April 5, will focus on supporting students in developing disciplinary habits of mind within our general education courses. We might think of habits of mind as the skills or modes of thinking necessary to be an anthropologist, chemist, designer, historian, philosopher, or mathematician. Please come prepared to discuss at least five habits of mind found in your discipline as well as some of the ways these skills are incorporated into your general education courses. Concrete illustrations are often helpful.

Bagels and coffee will be available at 8:15 a.m., and the discussion will take place from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. in the Professional Development Center, E. H. Butler Library 181B.
