The position of senior adviser to the president for equity and campus diversity, held at present on an interim basis by Scott Johnson, dean of University College, will be retitled chief diversity officer. The name change reflects the emerging standard in higher education and parallels our recent appointment of a chief information officer. The chief diversity officer will remain a cabinet-level position. We are now ready to launch a national search for this position, and I am pleased to announce the members of the search committee:

The committee is charged with soliciting and evaluating nominations and applications for the position of chief diversity officer at Buffalo State. The committee will provide me with an unranked list of recommended candidates for my consideration when making the final appointment.
