Dear Colleagues,
The annual Faculty and Staff Appeal—a fundraising campaign for the people and programs that make Buffalo State College great—kicks off today, March 1.
In the past, you have given generously to the college that means so much to us all. And in these challenging times of decreased public support, your gifts matter more than ever.
As you know, in New York State and beyond, public institutions are looking more and more like privates—relying ever more heavily on private gifts as public support decreases. That means philanthropy at Buffalo State will have to grow.
Generous giving by faculty and staff is an important part of Buffalo State’s philanthropic endeavors. The more we give, the better the picture we paint for other donors about the vitality of our university community and the strong support of its people. Your gifts signal to others that Buffalo State is a place worth supporting.
If you have given to the Faculty and Staff Appeal in years past, thank you. Please continue to give, and consider increasing your gift, this year.
If you have not participated in this crucial fundraising campaign in previous years, I hope you will become a first-time donor. As your colleagues who have already participated will tell you, there’s nothing like the satisfaction of knowing you’ve made a difference for the better.
