From the President

Posted: Thursday, May 12, 2011

Dear Colleagues,

As the 2010–2011 academic year draws to a close, I want to tell you how very much I appreciate all your hard work, good cheer, and unwavering devotion to the success of our students. Buffalo State thrives because of all these things—because of all you do, each and every day, for the good of our campus community.

This year was not without its challenges, but I am very proud of how you have handled them. In the months ahead, whether you remain on campus or spend some time away, please know that those of us in the Buffalo State administration will continue working to address the challenges still before us.

I have recently spent a good deal of time visiting with legislators, making the case for the rational tuition policy. It appears that there’s considerable support among our representatives in Albany, and I’m cautiously optimistic. As for the governor’s budgetary proposal, it is still unclear how we will need to handle the announced reduction.

But many exciting things will be happening at Buffalo State over the summer, and in the fall we will kick off our Year of the Arts—I’m especially looking forward to that, and I hope you are, too.

In the meantime, I wish you all the very best for a pleasant and enjoyable summer.

Sincerely,

Aaron Podolefsky, Ph.D.
President
