Poets Paul White and Loren Keller at the Burchfield Penney

This Sunday, February 6, at 2:00 p.m., the Burchfield Penney Writers and Poets Series presents Paul White and Loren Keller.

Paul began writing over thirty years ago, as part of a survival strategy, after a difficult period of illness in his own life. He has attended workshops at the Palm Beach Poetry Festival and at the Sarah Lawrence Summer Seminar for Writers. His teachers have been Thomas Lux , Gregory Orr, Stephen Dobyns, Stuart Dischell, and Marie Howe.

Loren Keller was born in Lancaster and has always lived in the Buffalo area. After serving three years as an infantry lieutenant in the Korean War, he graduated from Buffalo State, won prizes for his poetry and essays, and began to build his book collection. He continued his education (and his collecting) at Cornell, Canisius, UB, and in California. He taught for 31 years as a teacher of literature, English, and humanities and as a department chair in the Kenmore public schools.
