'Pippin': October 20-22

Three performances remain for the Theater Department and Casting Hall Productions presentation of Pippin, directed by Lissette DeJesús, ’22.

Written by Roger Hirson, with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, Pippin tells the story of a young prince searching for the secret to true happiness and fulfillment—in glories on the battlefield, temptations of the flesh, and intrigues of political power. Along the way, a group of Players show him all the magic he could ever need to feel fulfilled, forcing Pippin to determine what magic really is.

Musical direction by Kathleen Dunne, Buffalo State senior music education major; choreography by Bobby Cooke, award-winning local actor, director, and choreographer. Mary Margaret Keenan-Browne, ’21, stage manager.

Audience members should be aware that this show includes mild violence, sexually suggestive content, and suicide references. The production team recommends that audience members be at least 15 years old; however, there is no minimum age required for admission.

Performances are October 20 and 21 at 8:00 p.m. and October 22 at 2:00 p.m. in Upton Hall’s Warren Enters Theatre.

Tickets can be purchased in person at the Rockwell Hall Box Office, by phone at (716) 878-3005, or online.
