Matthew Podgorsak, chief physicist in the Department of Radiation Medicine at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, will give a lecture on radiation therapy on Thursday, February 27, at 12:30 p.m. in Science Building 272. Approximately half of all cancer patients will receive radiation therapy at some point during their treatment course. This talk will focus on the physical and biological principles involved in the delivery of radiation therapy. Historical perspectives and state-of-the-art technologies will be discussed.
