The Computer Information Systems Department will host the GenCyber Student Project Showcase and Competition, sponsored by the National Security Agency (NSA), on Saturday, June 3, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. More than 65 students from over 20 secondary schools in Western New York will participate in the competition based on various cybersecurity topics. GenCyber is an annual grant program sponsored by NSA promoting cybersecurity education worldwide by connecting educators to the skills and resources they need to teach cybersecurity in fun and relevant ways. Our GenCyber team at SUNY Buffalo State University was honored to present a weeklong cybersecurity workshop to 25 Western New York in-service secondary school teachers last summer. The GenCyber Student Project Showcase and Competition represents the results of a number of these teachers starting cybersecurity clubs or offering cybersecurity classes at their schools. For more information about the GenCyber program, please visit theĀ Buffalo State GenCyber website.
