Dolores Battle, senior adviser to the president for equity and campus diversity, conducted a mini-seminar (with Loretta Nunez from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association and audiologist Janet Koehnke), "The Praxis II Examination in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology: What Faculty Need to Know," at the 28th annual conference of the Council of Academic Programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders in Palm Springs, California, April 11–14. Battle also presented two papers at the annual convention of the National Black Association for Speech-Language and Hearing: "Using Cultural Competence in Clinical Practice for Adult Neurogenics" and "Looking Back…Looking Ahead: A Model Program for Mentoring Faculty of Color," withConstance Qualls, chair and professor, Speech-Language Pathology, in Charlotte, North Carolina, April 19–21.
