John Thompson, associate professor, Computer Information Systems, chaired the Educational Technology Conference 2007 (ETC ’07) in Buffalo on May 11. The conference-planning team consisted of Thompson’s graduate educational computing program students. More than 230 people attended the conference, which was highlighted by a keynote from Timothy Magner, director of the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Educational Technology. Thompson also assumed the editorship of JCSE Online (Journal of Computer Science Education), a publication of the International Society for Technology in Education. He also judged entries in theThinkQuest International 2007 competition, sponsored by the Oracle Education Foundation.
